When to talk to your child about sex
How old were you when mum or dad sat you down and spoke about sex?
The birds and the bees conversation… was it uncomfortable, or was it ok? And how soon is too soon…can you have that conversation with your children and make a mess of things?
John & Garry put the question to Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, a child and adolescent psychologist who says the discussion should happen as soon as the child can name parts of their anatomy.
This is often around around the age of 4 or 5, they will start asking about where babies come from.
Many resources available these days to help navigate this potential minefield…books, the internet etc, and it’s better that you start the conversation than have the kids hear the wrong information from other children.
